Investment philosophy

Karman is a well-known advocate of value investing and is basically looking for companies with values of DKK 1, but that sell for 50 cents.

He is a big follower of Benjamin Graham (Warren Buffett’s mentor) and can undoubtedly be characterized as a long-term and very patient investor.

Klarman is known to often hold 30-50% of the fund in cash, waiting for the market to offer him some very favorable prices.

Klarman trims the portfolio

Looking at Seth Klarman’s portfolio for the second quarter of 2022, there’s a pretty clear trend: he’s reducing a large number of his positions. These include Alphabet (Google), Intel, Dropbox, Fiserv, Meta, Intel and more than 20 other positions. In other words, the overall picture is that Klarman has taken a more defensive position and is a fairly significant net seller of shares.
